As we reach the fourth anniversary of launching theaccessibleguide.com, it gives us a moment to reflect on the journey so far and look ahead to what comes next. The first four years were about proving the idea; the next four are about proving what accessibility can look like when it is treated as infrastructure. From behind the scenes, we can clearly see the development, momentum, and growth. Here’s what that looks like.

We have worked with major businesses across the Liverpool City Region and Manchester, helping us grow our network, our reach, and our understanding of how digital technology can support disabled people. We have also partnered with organisations such as Unitemps, Liverpool John Moores University, and the University of Salford. Through these partnerships, we have hosted almost 1,400 internship hours, enabling students to help us create high‑quality accessibility video content. Some of our favourite pieces include the videos for Novotel Paddington Village, Open Eye Gallery, and Stoller Hall in Manchester.

Much of the real progress, however, has been happening quietly in the background. We are preparing to launch TAG 3.0,  a major step forward for both disabled people and the businesses on our platform. TAG 3.0 introduces business‑controlled listings, sub‑page content, and the ability to deliver real‑time information.

For businesses, managing their own content means information stays accurate, relevant, and up to date. Sub‑pages will allow venues to present their accessibility information in a clearer, more structured way. And real‑time updates will give disabled people the power to understand potential barriers before they arrive, supporting informed choice and reducing uncertainty.

Alongside this, we are developing new initiatives that will roll out later this year. Each one uses digital technology to reduce barriers and improve access to goods and services for disabled people.

To support the launch of TAG 3.0, we have also been working with a well‑known local organisation to create powerful, informative video content that showcases what the next phase of our platform will deliver.

As our platform turns four, we want to thank every business, partner, and individual who has supported us. Your belief in our mission means the world to us, and we are truly grateful.

For now, stay tuned for our TAG 3.0 updates — we’re excited to show you what comes next.
