Manchester Cathedral has been centre stage in the city for several centuries. The Grade I listed masterpiece recieved permission to be built in 1421 by Henry V, and the building became a Cathedral in 1847. The Catherdral was damaged in 1940 during WW2 and again in 1996 after an IRA bomb exploded nearby.
